The Northern Virginia housing market is experiencing a surge in demand, resulting in multiple offers on homes throughout the region. This has shocked me; I thought we would see more inventory in the area.
This trend is particularly evident in Fredericksburg. Last week, I wrote an offer on a home and faced competition from 17 other bidders. This increased demand may be due to interest rates dipping below the 6% range.
I have also noticed several buyers moving back to the region who left during COVID. The main reason I am seeing is that they want to be near family, have better salaries, and avoid the increased traffic in Florida, Texas, and other areas.
